Instagram Followers and Following: What the Two Numbers Say About You
Followers are the accounts that chose to see your posts. Following is the accounts you chose to see. They sit next to each other at the top of every profile, and the gap between them is read in about a second by everybody who lands on your page. A page following two thousand accounts while holding ninety followers reads as someone chasing attention. A page with more followers than following reads as somebody worth listening to. Neither judgement is fair, and both happen anyway, before a single post is looked at. This page explains what each number really counts, what the ratio signals, how to fix a lopsided one, and where a follower order fits.

What each number actually counts
The follower number is the count of accounts that have followed you and not unfollowed. It includes dormant accounts, second accounts and accounts that never open the app, which is why it is always larger than the number of people who genuinely see your posts.
The following number is the count of accounts you have chosen to follow. Instagram caps how many accounts one profile can follow, and that cap has sat at seven thousand five hundred for a long time, though it is worth checking Instagram help pages for the current figure, so a page that has been mass-following for years eventually hits a wall it cannot pass without unfollowing.
Neither number tells you anything about reach. Reach is how many separate accounts actually saw a post, and it lives in Insights on a professional account. It is normal for reach on a single post to be a fraction of a follower count, because Instagram shows a post to a slice of an audience and expands from there depending on how that slice behaves.
Fix the ratio at the smallest size
A hundred followers is the minimum order and enough to move a two-figure page into three. Username only, price on the table above.
Why the ratio matters more than either number
A stranger reads the two figures together. Following far more than you have followers is the shape of an account trying to be noticed, and people discount everything that follows from that first impression, including good posts.
The shape people trust is followers comfortably ahead of following, with a following count that looks like genuine interest rather than a strategy. A page following three hundred accounts and followed by two thousand looks like a page somebody built. A page following six thousand and followed by four hundred looks like a page working a system.
This is why fixing the ratio is often worth more than adding to either number. Cutting a bloated following list costs nothing and changes the first impression immediately, which no purchase can do on its own.
- Followers well ahead of following reads as earned attention.
- Following far ahead of followers reads as chasing attention.
- The gap is judged before anybody reads a bio or a post.
Enough to put followers ahead of following
Five hundred followers is the size that changes the shape of the profile on a page with a few hundred already.
How to fix a lopsided profile
Start by trimming the following list rather than adding followers. Instagram groups the accounts you follow into least interacted with and most shown in feed, which makes the work quick. Unfollow the dormant accounts, the ones you followed hoping for a follow back, and anything you no longer read.
Do it in small batches over several days. Unfollowing hundreds of accounts in one sitting is the fastest way to trigger an action block, which locks the button for hours and sometimes longer. Fifty a day is dull and safe.
Then look at the follower side. If the count is very low, the profile reads as new whatever the ratio says, and that is the point where adding followers does real work. The two jobs go together: a trimmed following list and a follower count in three or four figures change the first impression far more than either does alone.
- Trim the following list in batches, not in one session.
- Use the least interacted with list to decide quickly.
- Add followers once the ratio is no longer working against you.
For a page that has been following thousands
Two and a half thousand followers rebalances a profile with a long following list. Paced across hours, with a 30-day refill.
Where buying followers fits into the ratio
It fixes one half of the problem directly. A follower order raises the number on the left without touching the number on the right, which is exactly the direction the ratio needs to move on a page that has been following too many accounts.
The size has to fit the page. Ordering an amount your account could plausibly have gained in a good month keeps the profile believable; jumping from ninety followers to ten thousand tells its own story to anybody who looks, including the people you were trying to impress.
Our minimum follower order is 100, and delivery starts within minutes and completes inside a nought to twenty-four hour window, paced across that time rather than dropped in one lump. Every order carries a 30-day refill, so a shortfall inside the window is topped back up.
For an account already in the tens of thousands
Five thousand followers keeps the step proportionate on a large page. Paid in pounds through PayPal, with no sign-up.
Things the two numbers cannot do for you
They do not change reach. Instagram decides how far a post travels from how people behave around it, so a follower count that rises does not make the next reel travel further on its own. Bought followers do not comment, do not click links and do not buy anything.
They also do not tell you who unfollowed you. Instagram provides no unfollower list, and every app offering one wants your login in order to build it. An Instagram password lets a stranger post as you and change your recovery email, which is a serious trade for a list you cannot act on.
What the numbers do is set the frame a visitor reads everything else through. That effect is real and it happens to everybody, which is why the two figures deserve attention even though neither is a measure of anything a business would call performance.
Ordering followers here, and what we never ask for
We ask for your public username. There is no account to create on this site, no password is requested at any point, and no login screen is shown to you at any stage. A supplier wanting more than a username for a public account has no honest use for it.
The account needs to be public while the order runs, because a private profile cannot take followers from outside and there is nowhere for delivery to land. You can set it back afterwards.
Payment is through PayPal, in pounds, with card payment available inside PayPal's own screens and the receipt coming from PayPal. Buying engagement is against Instagram's terms of use and Instagram removes accounts it judges inauthentic on a rolling basis, so we will not promise nothing is ever removed. What we do promise is pacing, a username-only order, and the refill window.
Questions people ask before ordering
What is the difference between followers and following on Instagram?
Followers are the accounts that chose to see your posts. Following is the accounts you chose to see. The follower number is what strangers judge you on; the following number is what you control directly, and trimming it costs nothing.
What is a good followers to following ratio?
There is no official figure, but followers comfortably ahead of following reads as earned attention, and the reverse reads as chasing it. A page following six thousand accounts while holding four hundred followers is the shape people discount instantly.
How many accounts can I follow on Instagram?
Instagram caps the number of accounts one profile can follow, and that cap has sat at seven thousand five hundred for a long time. Check Instagram help pages for the current figure. A page that has been mass-following for years hits that wall and cannot pass it without unfollowing first.
Can I see who unfollowed me?
Instagram does not provide an unfollower list. Apps offering one need your login to build it by watching your list over time, and an Instagram password lets a stranger post as you and change your recovery email. It is a bad trade.
Should I unfollow people to fix my ratio?
Yes, and it is the simplest fix available. Work in small batches over several days rather than hundreds in one sitting, because bulk unfollowing triggers an action block that locks the button for hours. Instagram's least interacted with list makes the choosing quick.
Will buying followers change my reach?
No. Instagram decides how far a post travels from how people behave around it, not from the number on your profile. Bought followers do not comment, click or buy. What changes is the judgement a stranger makes when they land on your page.
How fast do follower orders arrive?
Delivery begins within minutes and completes inside a nought to twenty-four hour window, paced across that time rather than dropped in one lump. The minimum order is 100 followers, and every order carries a 30-day refill.
