New Instagram Followers: How to See Them, Get Them and Keep Them
Your newest Instagram followers sit at the top of your follower list, which is ordered with the most recent arrivals first, and recent follows also appear in the activity tab alongside your other notifications. That is the whole of what Instagram shows you: no dates, no history, and no record of anybody who followed and then left. This page covers all three of the things people mean when they search for new Instagram followers: how to see them, why they sometimes disappear again, and how to get more of them, including an honest account of what a paid order changes and what it leaves untouched.

How to see your new Instagram followers
Open your profile, tap the followers count, and read the list from the top. Instagram orders that list with the most recent followers first, so the newest arrivals are the ones you see before scrolling. There is no date attached to any of them, which is why the order is the only clue you get.
The activity tab is the second place to look, showing recent follows mixed in with likes and comments. It is more immediate than the list and less complete, because older notifications fall away and a busy account buries follows under everything else.
What Instagram does not give you is history. There is no record of who followed you last month, and no list of anybody who followed and later left. Third-party tracking apps fill that gap by storing snapshots of your follower list and comparing them, which means they only know about changes since you installed them.
Move the count out of two figures
A hundred followers changes the first impression a visitor forms, which happens before anybody reads a word of your bio.
Why new followers appear and then disappear
Follower counts move on their own on every account. Instagram removes inauthentic accounts in periodic sweeps, people delete their accounts, some switch to private, and a share of anybody who follows you on impulse changes their mind within a fortnight. A count that wobbles by a few either way is normal rather than a fault.
Follow-for-follow arrivals are the least durable of all. People who followed you expecting a follow back unfollow when they do not get one, usually inside two weeks, which is why growth built that way unwinds itself as fast as it accumulated.
The pattern worth investigating is a sustained fall across several weeks with no change in how often you post. That usually means posts stopped reaching new people, or the subject drifted away from what the audience originally followed you for. One bad day is background noise.
A strong month, delivered today
Five hundred is proportionate on a page already in the hundreds and still arrives paced across the delivery window.
Why some new followers are not who you expected
Every public Instagram account collects followers nobody asked for. Bulk-registered accounts follow public profiles at random so their own pages look plausible, and a public account that has existed for a year is always carrying some. Finding two or three obviously empty profiles in a sample of twenty is ordinary.
You can remove any of them by hand: open the follower list, tap the three dots beside the account, and choose Remove. Instagram does not notify the person, and the count falls by one. Do twenty or thirty in a sitting rather than several hundred, because a very large clear-out in one session can look like a compromised account.
Do not install an app that offers to mass-remove followers for you. Those apps need account access to work, they trip Instagram's automation limits on your behalf, and the restriction lands on your profile rather than on the app.
For a page with an audience already
Larger orders suit accounts in the thousands, where a few hundred more would not register with a visitor or with you.
How to get new Instagram followers
New followers come from strangers seeing your work and then visiting your profile, so the format that reaches strangers is the one that matters. Reels are shown to people who do not follow you; feed posts are shown mainly to people who already do. An account posting only photos is showing its work to people who already arrived.
The second half is conversion. A visitor decides in about three seconds from four things: the follower count, the profile photo, the first bio line, and the top row of the grid. If those four do not obviously match the post that brought them, the visit is wasted and no follow happens.
Check both halves in your insights panel rather than guessing. Non-follower views tells you whether anybody new is seeing you at all. Profile visits set against new follows tells you what share of arrivals decide to stay, and that ratio is the number most accounts have never looked at.
- Publish reels, because reels reach people who do not follow you.
- Make the first bio line say who the account is for in plain words.
- Keep the top row of the grid obviously on the subject people arrive for.
- Read non-follower views and profile visits weekly rather than the follower total.
How to keep the new followers you gain
People stay for the reason they arrived. If a reel about one subject brings a hundred followers and your next four posts are about something else entirely, most of those hundred quietly leave, and the follower graph shows a spike followed by a slide.
Posting rhythm matters more than posting volume. An audience that sees you at a predictable pace stays; one that hears nothing for three weeks forgets what the account was and unfollows during a clear-out. Three posts a week held for three months holds an audience better than fourteen in a fortnight.
Reply to the first comments on every post. It costs a few minutes, it raises the early response Instagram measures, and it is the difference between an account somebody follows and an account somebody notices.
What buying new followers changes, and what it does not
Buying followers changes the number on your profile and the first impression it creates, which is a real effect on the share of visitors who decide to follow. A count in two figures reads as new or abandoned before anybody has read a word, and moving into three or four figures removes that specific obstacle.
It does not change reach. Bought followers do not watch reels, do not send posts to friends, and do not push anything further into Explore, so the number of strangers discovering you is unaffected. Anybody selling followers as a reach product is describing something the product does not do.
Keep the order proportionate to the account. A page holding three hundred adding five hundred reads as a strong month; a page holding ninety jumping to ten thousand tells its own story and cannot be undone afterwards.
Ordering on InstaBoost, and the limits we state plainly
InstaBoost is a UK service selling Instagram followers, likes, reel views, story views, saves, shares and reposts, priced in pounds and paid through PayPal. There is no account to create and we never ask for your Instagram password. Followers are ordered against a public username; likes, saves and shares take the link to the post or reel.
The smallest follower order is 100 and the smallest likes order is 100. Reel views and story views start at 250, saves and shares start at 100, and reposts start at 50. Delivery starts within minutes and orders complete within 0 to 24 hours, arriving in a paced climb rather than one jump.
The limits, stated plainly: the account must be public while an order runs, some drop is possible on any order and every order carries a 30-day refill that tops the shortfall back up, and we do not offer free followers, free likes or free trials. No supplier can promise Instagram will never remove an account it judges inauthentic.
Questions people ask before ordering
How do I see my new followers on Instagram?
Tap the followers count on your profile and read the list from the top, because Instagram orders it with the most recent arrivals first. Recent follows also show in the activity tab alongside likes and comments. Instagram attaches no dates and keeps no history, so the order in the list is the only clue you get.
Why do my new Instagram followers disappear?
Counts drift on every account. Instagram removes inauthentic accounts in periodic sweeps, people delete accounts or switch to private, and anyone who followed expecting a follow back tends to leave within a fortnight. A wobble of a few is normal; a sustained fall over several weeks with no change in your posting is worth investigating.
Can I see who unfollowed me on Instagram?
Not through Instagram itself, which keeps no record of unfollows and shows you no history. Third-party tracker apps do it by storing snapshots of your follower list and comparing them, so they only know about changes since you installed them. Never use one that asks for your Instagram password, because counting followers does not require your login.
Why am I getting followers I do not recognise?
Bulk-registered accounts follow public profiles at random so their own pages look plausible, and every public account collects some over time. A few empty profiles in any sample of twenty is ordinary rather than a sign that something went wrong. You can remove them by hand from the follower list, twenty or thirty at a time.
How do I get new followers on Instagram?
Publish reels, because reels are shown to people who do not follow you while feed posts are shown mainly to people who already do. Then make sure the profile converts the visit: a clear first bio line, a top row of the grid on the subject people arrived for, and a follower count that is not sitting in two figures.
Do bought followers count as new followers?
They raise the number on your profile and appear in your follower list like any other account, so they change the first impression a visitor forms. They do not behave like an audience, since they do not watch reels or send posts on, and so they do not increase your reach. Judge them as a first-impression purchase and they do that job well.
What happens if bought followers drop off?
Every order carries a 30-day refill, so a shortfall inside that window is topped back up. Some settling is normal on any account because Instagram sweeps for inauthentic accounts periodically and those sweeps affect bought and organic followers alike. A drop after 30 days falls outside the refill period.
